Praxis Mine limitations
Praxis Mine improves adoption judgment. It does not make outside software trustworthy by looking at it sternly.
Candidate evidence
Repository metadata, stars, installs, security badges, documentation quality, and content hashes are signals. They do not establish useful behavior, maintenance, ownership, license applicability, privacy, security, or production fitness.
Local scanning identifies candidate roots and hashes visible files. It does not execute code, resolve dependencies, inspect remote history, detect every secret, identify every license, or perform vulnerability analysis.
Dispositions
The deterministic score prioritizes attention. It is not a scientific probability or acceptance decision. pilot, quarry, adapt, monitor, and reject are bounded current recommendations. adopt requires a separate acceptance gate with environment-specific evidence and accountable authority.
Hosts and tools
The plugin grants no browser, repository, network, shell, filesystem, credential, or installation authority. It can use only the tools and data exposed by the active host and authorized by the user.
Live host installation, discovery, routing, resource loading, Python execution, and file writes depend on current product features, workspace policy, operating system, process identity, and selected paths.
Data and privacy
The package provides no hosted service or telemetry. The selected AI host and external tools may process supplied material under their own terms. The user controls the local ledger and must avoid placing secrets or unnecessary personal data in it.
Release evidence
Static validation supports package structure and exact exercised checks. It does not establish defect freedom, legal correctness, security certification, formal accessibility conformance, directory approval, customer success, or fitness for a particular adoption decision.
Currentness and recovery bounds
A bound assessment is current only for its recorded material/source snapshot. It can still be wrong: evidence references, license conclusions and comparisons are supplied judgments that require actual inspection. Source mutation returns the display to triage; older unbound evaluations retain history without current authority. Ordinary multi-record failures roll back, but power loss or external modification can require recovery. Scans reject linked/reparse material and fail on unreadable files; they do not promise a race-proof snapshot of a concurrently hostile filesystem.
