Knowledge Packs — Stunspot’s Guide to Macroeconomics

The knowledge packs are the operational corpus files. They are organized for AI/RAG upload, source traceability, and practical reuse.

docs/ contains guidance only. The actual report corpus lives under knowledge-packs/.

Use the compiled packs unless you have a specific reason not to.

knowledge-packs/compiled-packs/

The compiled packs are the best general-purpose upload format because they preserve the canon’s four-part conceptual arc while avoiding both extremes: thirteen separate report files or one very large omnibus file.

Pack Types

Pack Files Path Best Use
Source reports 13 knowledge-packs/by-report/ Precise retrieval, selective upload, citation, editing, report-level review.
Compiled packs 4 knowledge-packs/compiled-packs/ Recommended default for most AI/RAG systems and project knowledge uploads.
Omnibus 1 knowledge-packs/omnibus/ One-file import, local archive, whole-corpus search, or strong long-context systems.

Source Reports

These are the canonical individual units.

Omnibus

Use the omnibus when a tool strongly prefers a single uploaded file, when building a local archive, or when working with long-context systems that can maintain retrieval quality across a large document.

Upload Guidance by Use Case

Use Case Recommended Pack
General AI project knowledge Compiled packs
NotebookLM-style exploration Compiled packs or omnibus
RAG with metadata and citations Source reports
Report-by-report review or editing Source reports
One-file local search/archive Omnibus
File-count-limited upload systems Compiled packs first, omnibus second
High-context reasoning with strong long-context models Omnibus, with source reports retained for citation checks

Source Traceability Rule

When accuracy matters, trace claims back to the source reports in knowledge-packs/by-report/. The compiled packs and omnibus are derived convenience formats; they should not replace the report-level source map in MANIFEST.md and manifest.json.
